Crystal has been a member of SDHSA since 2002. She is currently serving the group as treasurer, answering questions via e-mail, and informally as legislative watch person. Crystal is married to Derald and they are the proud parents of ten-year-old Detrian. In addition to being a stay at home mom, Crystal has enjoyed active roles in several community organizations. Her family considers themselves to be lifelong homeschoolers because learning happens in every moment. The eclectic label best describes their approach to homeschooling because of their unique blend of unschooling philosophy mixed with bits of Montessori, Waldorf, Charlotte Mason, unit study, and traditional methods.
