For the South Dakota Home School Association, tours are a big deal! Tours get our kids together and out into the community to see the inner workings of businesses, and experience what people do to make a living (sometimes with hands-on experiences included). Tours are a unique and wonderful educational opportunity that only homeschooled kids can enjoy on such a frequent basis. Check out the SDHSA calendar to find upcoming tours. Costs: In some cases, we may schedule tours at businesses that charge to give tours or for other goods and services; if this is the case, this information will be disclosed ahead of time via our Yahoo group, and members choosing to attend will be responsible for those costs. Otherwise, tours are free to all SDHSA members.
Non-member Tour Policy: If you are considering joining SDHSA but would like to get a feel for the group’s tours ahead of time, we welcome your family to join us for one tour, free of charge (with the exception of costs such as those mentioned in the above paragraph). If, after the initial tour, your family would like to attend any additional tours, we would ask that you join our group. More information on joining SDHSA is located here. With over twenty tours per year, not to mention other activities, parties, and meet-ups, the $20 you pay to join SDHSA is a terrific value!
Availability: Please note that on some tours, space is limited, and will be given on a first-come-first-served basis to paid SDHSA members, with leftover spaces available for non-members.
Tour RSVPs: SDHSA members sign up for tours using polls taken via our Yahoo Group. If you are not a member of SDHSA and would like to take advantage of the offer to try one free tour, please email Heidi to ensure that space is available.
We sincerely thank everyone who has an interest in attending our tours!
